A-level programme

A-level study at top UK Boarding schools and colleges

A level is the usual means of entry to British universities.

A level study is normally a two-year course.

In the first year students take AS (Advanced Subsidiary) Levels.

The AS Level is a qualification in its own right and is recognised for the purposes of entry to some universities, but it also forms the first part of a full A level.

The final year study (A2), represents the second element of the A level course.

A full A level grade is only awarded upon successful completion of AS and A2.

Students are encouraged to take up to four or five subjects at AS Level, which are usually reduced to three or four subjects at A2.

University applications require a minimum of three subjects at A level

For entry to the top universities grades at A* are normally required at 3 or more subjects.
